How jammy are Germany?

It really is quite something sometimes. Germany are in yet another major final and they really don't deserve to be there. I thought that last night and watching the highlights again this morning my opinion hasn't changed one jot. Turkey were superb last night, they only had 3 fully fit subs, they had a team full of reserves and yet they gave Germany the run around. It was a terrific game of football and Turkey deserved at the very least another thirty minutes but they probably deserved to be in the final itself. They had this never say die attitude that was wonderful to watch, they have been one of the revelations of this tournament. Coach Terim really has shown what a World Class coach he is. His performances and tactical nous took Turkey to the brink of a final and for that he should be universally applauded. He says he'll leave Turkey and come into club management in Europe and whatever team ends up with him will be getting a first class manager and coach. |

'Jammy' - I like it - not seen that term used in a while! They did get lucky in the fact they were on the easy side of the draw. They weren't great last night but they were really good against Portugal and certainly deserved to be in the semi's. I felt for Turkey but Germany are Germany and they keep doing in tournament in, tournament out, so they must be doing something right! |

Yeah I was gutted to see that 3rd goal go in for the Germans. I think the Turks deserved to see it go to penalties. It would be a bit of shame to see Terim leave the national side to come and coach a club, but I guess that's the game these days. |

Terim has been national coach for four years now spanning the World Cup and Euros and this wasn't his first stint in the job. He should be a heavily sought after coach and the big boys should be lining up at his front door with piles of money. |

You say they were lucky but haven't Germany done this enough times over the years to tell us that they just know how to win? I mean, just because our national side can neither play well or win doesn't mean we should be bitter about those who do ;) |
