I see Nike aren't giving him back his boot deal - not shock there. "We have provision in all our sponsorship contracts that take into account any actions by an athlete that bring the brand into disrepute. "While Joey is a talented footballer, we cannot condone or accept what he did. "Back in May when he was found guilty, we immediately terminated his contract. "We certainly have no plans to re-sign him now that he has been released." Good on 'em - although it was only £40k per year it was better than a kick in the teeth... |

'better than a kick in the teeth...' Was that on purpose? Still good on Nike for taking a stand - I wish the club would do such a thing. |

I may just go an buy a few nike items, just because i like the morale stance they have taken. |

Nike have certainly gone up in my estimations. I think this is terrific PR from the company. |
