Howdy Folks, As some of you may of seen I was on Sky News last week talking about the new FA Respect Charter. I want to hear your views on whether it'll work and football will become a more respectful game. Watch what I had to say... |

I would love it to work but honestly - the chances are between slim and Victoria Beckham's waist size. |

I think this actually will work. Well I really hope it can work for Sunday football. I run team and we sometimes find it hard to get a ref because there are so little of them. The main reason for this is definately due to abuse on the pitch. I have drilled it into my Sunday Side to have respect for the ref and do NOT chat back or shout at him. What he says goes. In doing this the refs in the leagues do gain repect for you as a team. They know the captain for that team does control his players so a great amount of respect will be given to that team by the ref. In the last 2 years we have been promoted twice and we now have a great repour with the refs because of my teams understanding to keep their heads!!! I hope this RESPECT campaign does follow into the smaller leagues and work in the end. |

It has to work without the man in black we can't play but, yes there's a but I hope the ref's don't use this to hide behind and not talk to any one. |

So far it seems to be working but you can tell that it is about to boil over somewhere along the line in a big big game. |

Well the referees are getting a bit peeved that they are getting a grilling in the press - do we care? Until they get the decisions right then they are fair game in my book. |
