I'm a King Kev guy - I make no bones about it but I think that he is the right man for the Toon. Get rid of Wise and let King Kev get on with it is what I say. I wanna know though does everyone feel the same? Read all about the guy with our Legend Profile. This post has been edited by Neil Monnery, 4th Sep 2008 - 02:28 PM |

I'm behind Keegan all the way, he has been like a shining light since his return amongst all these multi billionaires and shady dealings. I'm not a Newcastle fan but i'm fuming about this, mike ashley is a bloody idiot, i can only assume he has chosen wise over keegan and for that alone he deserves everything the rightly disgusted fans throw at him. I quite enjoyed the man city takeover and everything it will bring but a line has to be drawn somewhere with this new breed of owners and in my mind today has been a sad sad day in the history of english football. With greater amounts of money being piled in by individual/joint owners of clubs they are starting to want greater control over the individual decisions. Micromanagement at its finest, but unfortunately always a consequence of these situations. The question is, if they are bankrolling an increasingly expensive market, shouldn't they be allowed to have a say-so in the decisions? In fairness, KK's traditional attitude hasn't helped in this situation (as it normally doesn't) and his comments about signing tried and tested premiership performers (translation, older players) may have lead the management to drift towards taking control of transfer decisions, or handing them to Wise and his team, who have taking a different tact with bringing in unknowns and younger players over the summer. However, irrespective of either of these things the one thing the club should always be aware of is its fanbase. These people are the reason why the club exist, and the people the club should be thinking about first and foremost, and treating with respect, and these are the people that have been treated the worst in this situation. |

Newcastle fans might not like this but I think they should get off Ashley's back, he saved their club and he only has the best interest of Newcastle United at heart. I'd like to see the fans apologise to Mike Ashley before he sells the club to an oil rich billionaire who'll rip the heart out of it. |

Whilst I'm no huge King Kev I feel sorry for him that he was offered a job with certain conditions only for the top level of management to change their minds. I wouldn't like it in my job but I suppose its Ashley's job so he can do what he likes with it. I think they've been a tad OTT the Geordie Fans - best in the land my rear-end! |
